Purpose:

This policy provides a clear process for escalating unresolved complaints and appeals to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), ensuring transparency and fairness in compliance with accreditation standards.


Scope:

This policy applies to all participants in the Food Handler training suite who have submitted a complaint or appeal and remain dissatisfied with the resolution provided by Trike.


Policy Statement:

If a complainant or appellant is dissatisfied with Trike’s final resolution, they may escalate their concern to the designated authority, ANSI, for further review.


Procedure:

1. Eligibility for Escalation:

• Complaints or appeals must first be addressed through Trike’s internal process.

• Escalation to ANSI is only permitted after Trike has completed its resolution process and communicated a final decision to the complainant or appellant.

2. Notification of Escalation Rights:

• All complainants and appellants will be informed of their right to escalate unresolved issues to ANSI upon receiving Trike’s final decision.

• Information on how to contact ANSI will be included in the final decision letter.

3. Contacting ANSI:

• Complainants or appellants may contact ANSI in writing with:

• A detailed description of the issue and its history.

• Documentation of Trike’s resolution efforts.

• A statement explaining why the resolution was unsatisfactory.

4. Documentation:

• Trike will maintain records of all complaints, appeals, and escalations for a minimum of three years and cooperate fully with ANSI in their review process.

5. Cooperation with ANSI:

• Upon receiving notice of an escalated issue, Trike will provide ANSI with any requested documentation or information to facilitate a thorough review.


Review and Updates:

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure compliance with ANSI accreditation standards and updated as necessary.
